Description

A cozy dish featuring creamy sweet potatoes topped with crunchy pecans, perfect for holidays and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, milk, melted butter, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until everything is combined.
  3. Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the chopped pecans, brown sugar, and flour. Sprinkle the pecan mixture evenly over the top of the sweet potato mixture.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
  6. Serve warm.

Notes

For a twist, add mini marshmallows to the topping before baking. Enable with nut-free by using crushed graham crackers instead of pecans.
