Soft and chewy sugar cookies coated in cinnamon sugar, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
- In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar for coating.
- Roll the dough into balls and then roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place the coated balls on ungreased cookie sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Allow to cool before serving.
