Description
These Smashed Cheeseburger Tacos combine the best of burgers and tacos with crispy, seasoned beef patties, melted cheese, and tangy Big Mac-style sauce. Perfect for a quick, flavorful meal with a fusion twist.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
6 flour tortillas (full-size)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
2 tbsp relish
Seasoning (taco or burger, as desired)
2 tbsp oil (olive or canola, for greasing)
Chopped lettuce (optional)
1 cup sliced tomatoes
Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup mayo, 1/4 cup ketchup, 1 tbsp mustard, and 2 tbsp relish.
Adjust the amount as needed and refrigerate until ready to use.
Preheat a griddle or skillet to medium-high heat.
Divide ground beef into six equal portions and place each portion on a tortilla.
Press firmly to smush the beef out, covering the tortilla evenly.
Sprinkle with seasoning and press into the meat.
Oil the cooking surface with 2 tbsp oil.
Place tortilla, beef side down, and cook for 2–3 minutes until crispy.
Flip and add cheese, cooking 1–2 minutes until melted.
Fold the taco, add tomatoes and lettuce (optional), and serve with the Big Mac-style sauce.
Notes
Use store-bought burger sauce if preferred.
Substitute Monterey Jack for cheddar if desired.
Tortillas can be pre-warmed in the oven for softness.
Adjust cooking time based on your heat source.
