Delicious maple glazed apple blondies that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 2 large apples (chopped finely)
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp butter
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- ⅛ tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line an 11×7 pan with tin foil or spray with cooking spray.
- Combine chopped apples, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of butter, ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon in a medium bowl; set aside.
- Cream together softened butter, ¼ cup of sugar, and 1 cup of dark brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, followed by 1½ teaspoons of vanilla extract and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl; gradually add to the creamed mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Fold in the apple filling until just incorporated.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over medium heat; stir in ¼ cup of pure maple syrup, ½ cup of powdered sugar, ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ⅛ teaspoon of ground cinnamon until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled blondies.
Notes
Don’t overmix the batter for chewy blondies. Choose sweet, firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for best results.
