Description

Delicious maple glazed apple blondies that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples (chopped finely)
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line an 11×7 pan with tin foil or spray with cooking spray.
  2. Combine chopped apples, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of butter, ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon in a medium bowl; set aside.
  3. Cream together softened butter, ¼ cup of sugar, and 1 cup of dark brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, followed by 1½ teaspoons of vanilla extract and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon.
  5. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl; gradually add to the creamed mixture, stirring just until combined.
  6. Fold in the apple filling until just incorporated.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over medium heat; stir in ¼ cup of pure maple syrup, ½ cup of powdered sugar, ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ⅛ teaspoon of ground cinnamon until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled blondies.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter for chewy blondies. Choose sweet, firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for best results.
