Description

Delightful Magical Spiral Cookies that are visually stunning and deliciously sweet, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Purple gel food coloring
  • Black gel food coloring
  • Purple sprinkles
  • ½ cup black or chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Begin by beating the room temperature butter and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  2. Next, add in the eggs and milk, mixing everything until it comes together smoothly.
  3. In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture along with the vanilla and almond extracts.
  4. Once your dough is ready, divide it into three portions and tint one half with purple gel food coloring.
  5. Roll out the black dough into a rectangle measuring approximately 6×12 inches.
  6. Roll out the white dough and gently place it on top of the black dough.
  7. Roll the purple dough out to the same size as the black and white layers and sprinkle with purple sprinkles.
  8. Carefully roll the purple dough into a log, encasing the black and white dough inside.
  9. Wrap it in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
  10. After chilling, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the log into cookies and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

Notes

Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for a smoother dough. Use a sharp knife for cutting even slices.
