Description

A delightful fusion of traditional lasagna and dumplings, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 4 scallions, thinly sliced (whites and greens)
  • 3 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 12 tsp chili crisp (to taste)
  • Splash of rice vinegar
  • ¾ tsp white pepper (or black pepper)
  • 12 tbsp chicken broth or water
  • Wonton or dumpling wrappers
  • Small bowl of water (for sealing wrappers)
  • Extra soy sauce or tamari (for garnish)
  • Extra chili crisp (for garnish)
  • Sliced scallions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Add ground pork, sliced scallions, grated garlic, and ginger to a large bowl.
  2. Follow with soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, chili crisp, rice vinegar, and white pepper.
  3. Add chicken broth or water, and mix until smooth.
  4. Begin layering in a deep baking dish with a thin layer of pork mixture.
  5. Carefully place wonton or dumpling wrappers on top, slightly overlapping.
  6. Continue layering until all filling is used, finishing with wrappers on top.
  7. Pour about 1 cup of water or broth around the edges of the dish.
  8. Cover tightly with foil and bake in a preheated oven until pork is cooked and wrappers are softened.
  9. Remove the foil and drizzle with soy sauce, sesame oil, and chili crisp to taste.
  10. Sprinkle sliced scallions and sesame seeds on top and serve hot.

Notes

Let the lasagna rest after baking to help flavors meld and make slicing easier.
