Description

A delightful and comforting side dish that highlights the sweet flavor of corn, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 10 ounce bag frozen corn (or canned corn), drained well
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt (or plain salt)
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • Pinch garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 Tablespoon butter (salted)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (or shredded Parmesan)
  • Fresh cracked pepper & salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the milk and flour. Set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized skillet over medium heat, combine the heavy whipping cream, seasoned salt, pepper, sugar, garlic powder, and butter. Mix until the butter melts.
  3. Once the butter has melted, stir in the corn, then add the milk and flour mixture.
  4. Continue stirring over medium heat, allowing the sauce to thicken and the corn to cook through for a few minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
  6. Season with fresh cracked pepper and salt to taste. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a thicker consistency, let the dish cook a few minutes longer. You can substitute different types of cheese or use fresh corn if in season.
