A delightful appetizer that combines creamy, tangy whipped feta with a touch of sweet heat from honey.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/21 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to heat preference)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides lightly with olive oil. Bake for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp. Let them cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend the crumbled feta, softened cream cheese, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, lemon juice, and black pepper until smooth and creamy. Chill the whipped feta until ready to use.
  3. In a small saucepan, warm the honey over low heat. Add red pepper flakes and stir for about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the honey infuse for 5–10 minutes.
  4. Spread a generous spoonful of whipped feta onto each crostini and drizzle with warm hot honey. Enjoy immediately!
