Description
A simple and delicious dish that combines sweet and savory flavors, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup pure honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and cornstarch until smooth. Add chicken breasts and coat well. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and sear each side until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet. Add the leftover marinade and some water if needed. Simmer while whisking until the sauce thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it with the sauce. Cook for an additional few minutes until heated through.
- Plate your honey garlic chicken and sprinkle with chopped green onions. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
Notes
For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate longer, up to a few hours. Don’t skip searing to lock in moisture. Add red pepper flakes for heat.
