Description

A simple and delicious dish that combines sweet and savory flavors, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup pure honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and cornstarch until smooth. Add chicken breasts and coat well. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and sear each side until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet. Add the leftover marinade and some water if needed. Simmer while whisking until the sauce thickens.
  4. Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it with the sauce. Cook for an additional few minutes until heated through.
  5. Plate your honey garlic chicken and sprinkle with chopped green onions. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate longer, up to a few hours. Don’t skip searing to lock in moisture. Add red pepper flakes for heat.
