Description

Soft and fluffy Texas Roadhouse Rolls served warm with delicious cinnamon honey butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon warm water (about 105-115°F)
  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • 1 cup warm whole milk (about 105-115°F)
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted, divided)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened, for serving)
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until frothy (about 5-10 minutes).
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the warm milk and 6 tablespoons of melted butter. Add salt, the frothy yeast mixture, and the egg.
  3. Gradually add the bread flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll.
  7. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. For the cinnamon honey butter, mix softened butter, confectioners’ sugar, honey, and cinnamon until smooth.
  10. Serve the warm rolls with the cinnamon honey butter.

Notes

Best served warm with cinnamon honey butter. Can store rolls in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for 3 months.
