Description

A delightful dish combining sweet and savory flavors, perfect for busy weeknights or a special dinner.

Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) chicken thighs or breasts, boneless and skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • Sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chicken pieces in a single layer. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Lower the heat to medium and add honey, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil (if using), garlic, and ginger to the same skillet.
  4. Bring to a simmer and add the cornstarch slurry. Stir until the sauce thickens, which will take about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Serve the Sticky Honey Chicken hot, drizzled with sauce and garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

For extra crispy chicken, double-coat the pieces with cornstarch before frying. Adjust the sweetness to your preference with honey.
