Description
A bold and flavorful chicken dish featuring tender thighs marinated in a sweet and spicy garlic and ginger sauce.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- 6 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 tablespoon of chili paste (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic and ginger.
- Add the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and chili paste. Stir well until fully combined.
- Season the marinade with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place the chicken thighs in the bowl with the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
- Cover and let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Carefully place the marinated chicken in the skillet, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on one side.
- Flip the chicken, reduce the heat to medium, and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
- Optionally pour the remaining marinade over the chicken during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Remove chicken and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Sauté leftover garlic and ginger in the same skillet for about 1 minute.
- Add a splash of water or chicken broth, then stir in more soy sauce and honey. Let it simmer until thickened.
- Slice the rested chicken and arrange it on a serving platter. Drizzle with sauce and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Marinate the chicken for up to 24 hours for enhanced flavor. Customize with other proteins or vegetables.
