  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup fruit preserves (e.g., raspberry, apricot)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until fully incorporated.
  5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on ungreased baking sheets.
  6. Make an indentation in the center of each ball using your thumb.
  7. Fill each indentation with a small amount of fruit preserves.
