Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups (300 grams) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (227 grams) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ½ cups (312 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • Frosting (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Scoop and roll cookie dough into spheres, then coat in granulated sugar.
  7. Place cookie balls on the prepared baking sheets, spaced apart.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are golden but centers are soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
