Description

A delightful slow-cooked dish of tender chicken in a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce, perfect for busy days.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup broccoli florets (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Place the chicken thighs in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, ginger, and brown sugar. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring that it’s well coated.
  4. If using, add broccoli florets on top of the chicken.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  6. Shred the chicken in the slow cooker and stir to mix in the sauce.
  7. Serve over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

Customize your sauce sweetness and add quick-cooking veggies in the last 30 minutes of cooking. Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
