A delicious twist on classic nachos featuring crispy tortilla chips topped with flavorful shrimp, melted cheese, and fresh toppings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound raw shrimp
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/4 small red onion, diced
- 1 medium jalapeño pepper, sliced
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 bag corn tortilla chips
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Peel and devein the shrimp. Cut the shrimp into thirds and marinate with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper for 10 minutes.
- Prepare the toppings: dice the tomato and red onion, slice the jalapeño, and chop the cilantro.
- Cook the marinated shrimp in a skillet over medium heat until they are pink, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Layer half the tortilla chips on the baking sheet, then top with half of each ingredient: shrimp, tomato, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and cheese.
- Add the remaining chips and repeat the layering process.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove and let cool for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.
Notes
Best served hot with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream. Customize with additional toppings as desired.
