Description

A warm and hearty dish that combines simple ingredients to create a satisfying meal, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small cabbage, shredded
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, with juice
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned, about 7 minutes. Drain any fat.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes (with juice), cooked rice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes to let the flavors blend.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes, until the cabbage is tender.
  7. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef. You can also substitute quinoa for rice for a gluten-free option.
