Description

A rich and indulgent creamy spinach side that brings gourmet dining right into your home, perfect for pairing with steaks, chicken, or fish.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs finely chopped spinach
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 piece clove
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup chopped onion
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 6 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Wash and clean the spinach carefully, removing stems and chopping it into small pieces.
  2. In a pot, heat the butter until melted.
  3. Add the flour to the melted butter, creating a paste and then incorporate the bay leaf, chopped onion, and clove.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring smoothness, and bring to a boil before simmering for a few minutes.
  5. Remove the clove and bay leaf from the pot.
  6. In a separate pot, cook the chopped spinach until tender, about 1-2 minutes, then chop it finely in a food processor.
  7. Add the finely chopped spinach to the sauce, mixing thoroughly and heating gently for about 5 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately. Bon Appétit!

Notes

Opt for fresh spinach for the best texture and flavor. Whole milk provides creaminess, but you can substitute with 2% milk for a lighter version.
