Ingredients
- 3 lbs russet or Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the garlic until fragrant.
- Stir in the heavy cream, cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, paprika, and onion powder until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, then pour half of the cheese sauce over them. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cheese sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
