Ingredients

  • 3 lbs russet or Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  2. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the garlic until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream, cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, paprika, and onion powder until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, then pour half of the cheese sauce over them. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cheese sauce.
