Ingredients
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- 6 slices of bread, cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- Chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard powder.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the cubed bread, then the cooked sausage, and top with cheese.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden.
- Garnish with chopped green onions if desired before serving.
