Description

A delightful and simple breakfast casserole made with breakfast sausage, fluffy eggs, and cheese layered with cubed bread for a satisfying meal perfect for busy mornings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 6 slices of bread, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • Chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard powder.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the cubed bread, then the cooked sausage, and top with cheese.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
  5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  6. In the morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired before serving.
