Description
A delightful snack combining prosciutto and mozzarella, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 package prosciutto
- 1 package mozzarella balls (about 12 oz)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Open the package of prosciutto and gently separate the slices, laying them flat on a clean surface.
- Take the mozzarella balls out of their packaging and drain any excess liquid.
- If the mozzarella balls are large, you can cut them in half for easier wrapping.
- Place one mozzarella ball in the center of each prosciutto slice.
- Carefully wrap the prosciutto around the mozzarella ball, ensuring it is fully enclosed.
- Continue wrapping all mozzarella balls in prosciutto slices until you have wrapped each one.
- Heat the olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat.
- Once the olive oil is heated, add the dried oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Stir the seasonings in the oil for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then remove from heat.
- Using a brush or spoon, lightly brush the seasoned olive oil mixture over each prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella bite.
- Arrange the wrapped mozzarella bites on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced slightly apart.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the prosciutto is crispy and slightly golden.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the bites to cool for a few minutes.
- If desired, sprinkle chopped fresh basil on top for added flavor and presentation.
- Serve immediately and enjoy.
