Description
Delicious and addictive appetizer, combining sweet brown sugar and pineapple with savory Little Smokies sausages.
Ingredients
- 2 packages (14 oz each) Lil’ Smokies sausages
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and optional cayenne pepper until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Place the Lil’ Smokies sausages into your slow cooker. Pour the prepared glaze over the sausages, ensuring they are well coated.
- Add the pineapple chunks to the slow cooker, stirring to incorporate them into the mixture for added texture and flavor.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on Low for 240 minutes or on High for 120 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking and prevent the sausages from sticking to the bottom.
- After cooking, serve the Little Smokies warm, with toothpicks for easy snacking.
Notes
Consider adjusting the sweetness by modifying the brown sugar. Adding toppings like green onions or cilantro can freshen up the dish.
