Ingredients
- 6-8 ripe fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl.
- Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, oats, and salt.
- Add the cold butter pieces to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to cut the butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
- Let the peach crisp cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra caramel flavor, sprinkle brown sugar over the fruit before adding the topping. You can also broil for 1-2 minutes for a crispier finish.
