A deliciously crispy and cheesy chicken dish that’s perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts, boneless skinless
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In one bowl, mix the bread crumbs, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- In a second bowl, beat the eggs and milk together.
- Place the flour in a third bowl.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip it in the egg mixture, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each chicken breast for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer the browned chicken breasts to a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the remaining Parmesan cheese with the mozzarella cheese and minced garlic. Sprinkle this mixture on top of the chicken.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the middle.
Notes
For a crispier texture, consider adding some panko breadcrumbs. Pounding the chicken to an even thickness ensures consistent cooking.
