This creamy oven baked chicken thighs recipe features tender chicken in a rich, flavorful sauce, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
- 6 bone-in skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (or oregano/thyme)
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or dill (chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pat the chicken thighs dry and season them with paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the chicken thighs for about 3–4 minutes on each side until they turn a golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in heavy cream, chicken broth, grated Parmesan cheese, and Italian herbs. Allow to simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Return the seared chicken to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over each piece.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Garnish with fresh parsley or dill before serving.
Notes
Use fresh herbs for garnish and adjust seasoning to taste. Choose an oven-safe skillet for best results.
