Ingredients
- 1 small head Cabbage (cut into thick slices)
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (for brushing)
- 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey (or ground chicken or plant-based options)
- 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 large Egg (optional, for binding)
- 1 cup Cheese (for sprinkling on top)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the cabbage head into thick slices and brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and the egg (if using) until well combined.
- Form small patties from the meat mixture that fit the cabbage slices.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a cabbage slice on a baking sheet, adding a patty on top, and topping with another slice of cabbage.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through, adding cheese for the last five minutes.
- Remove from oven and serve hot.
