Description

A delicious and nutritious twist on classic burgers using cabbage as a bun, offering a healthy and flavorful alternative.


Ingredients

  • 1 small head Cabbage (cut into thick slices)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (for brushing)
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey (or ground chicken or plant-based options)
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 large Egg (optional, for binding)
  • 1 cup Cheese (for sprinkling on top)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the cabbage head into thick slices and brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and the egg (if using) until well combined.
  4. Form small patties from the meat mixture that fit the cabbage slices.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a cabbage slice on a baking sheet, adding a patty on top, and topping with another slice of cabbage.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through, adding cheese for the last five minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and serve hot.
