Ingredients
- 1 pound hot Italian sausage
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups uncooked medium shells
- 8 ounces Velveeta cheese, cubed
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the sausage and onions in a large pot over medium heat for 7-10 minutes, or until the sausage is no longer pink and the onions are translucent.
- Stir in the tomato paste, garlic powder, and oregano. Mix well to combine.
- Add the beef broth and heavy cream to the pot and bring to a boil.
- Stir in the uncooked shells, then lower the heat and let it simmer for 12-13 minutes, or until the pasta is tender.
- Incorporate the cubed Velveeta cheese and stir until melted and creamy.
- Allow the dish to rest for a few minutes before serving to thicken and cool slightly.
Notes
Use quality sausage for better flavor; you can also adjust the creaminess by adding more heavy cream if desired.
