Description

A quick and easy one-pot meal that brings comfort to the table, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (lean or regular)
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional, such as mozzarella, cheddar, or Italian blend)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent.
  2. Pour in the tomato sauce and beef broth or water. Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning and stir to combine. Add the elbow macaroni, ensuring it is mostly submerged. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
  3. Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Once the pasta is tender and the sauce thickens, stir in the shredded cheese if desired, allowing it to melt.
  5. Serve warm, straight from the pot, optionally garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat properly before serving.
