Description
A quick and easy one-pot meal that brings comfort to the table, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (lean or regular)
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional, such as mozzarella, cheddar, or Italian blend)
Instructions
- Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent.
- Pour in the tomato sauce and beef broth or water. Sprinkle in the Italian seasoning and stir to combine. Add the elbow macaroni, ensuring it is mostly submerged. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
- Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Once the pasta is tender and the sauce thickens, stir in the shredded cheese if desired, allowing it to melt.
- Serve warm, straight from the pot, optionally garnished with fresh herbs.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat properly before serving.
