Description

Delightful cranberry crumble bars with a buttery, crumbly topping, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the flour and salt until a dough forms. Press about 2/3 of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. In another bowl, combine cranberries, orange juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Pour this mixture over the crust in the pan.
  5. Crumble the remaining dough over the cranberry filling.
  6. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, until the top is lightly golden.
  7. Let it cool completely before drizzling with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
  8. Cut into bars and serve.

Notes

Use fresh cranberries for the best flavor, and allow the bars to cool fully before slicing for better shape.
