Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the flour and salt until a dough forms. Press about 2/3 of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- In another bowl, combine cranberries, orange juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Pour this mixture over the crust in the pan.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the cranberry filling.
- Bake for about 30-35 minutes, until the top is lightly golden.
- Let it cool completely before drizzling with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
- Cut into bars and serve.
Notes
Use fresh cranberries for the best flavor, and allow the bars to cool fully before slicing for better shape.
