Fluffy, buttery breadsticks that replicate the iconic Olive Garden experience, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups warm water (about 100°F – 110°F)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a stand mixer bowl, mix the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for about 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Once foamy, add flour, olive oil, and salt. Knead on low speed until soft.
- Cover the bowl with a towel and let it rest for 30 minutes to rise.
- Punch down the dough, divide it into 16 pieces, and roll each piece into approximately 7-inch sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Cover the breadsticks and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the breadsticks for 12–14 minutes until golden brown.
- In a bowl, mix melted butter, garlic powder, and salt.
- Brush the breadsticks with garlic butter immediately after baking and serve warm.
Notes
For best results, use fresh yeast and ensure ingredients are at room temperature. Customize flavors by adding herbs or cheese before baking.
