Description

This old fashioned salmon patties recipe brings Southern comfort to your plate. Crispy outside, tender inside, and made with simple pantry staples.

Ingredients

1415 oz canned salmon, drained

1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped

½ red bell pepper, diced

1 large egg, beaten

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

½ cup Panko breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons olive oil, divided

2 tablespoons butter, divided

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ cup chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Heat 1 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp butter in a skillet. Sauté onion and pepper until soft.

2. Let veggies cool slightly. In a bowl, flake salmon.

3. Add veggies, egg, mayo, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire, garlic salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix well.

4. Form mixture into small patties.

5. In the same skillet, heat remaining oil and butter over medium heat.

6. Fry patties 3–4 mins per side until golden brown.

7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

Use crushed crackers instead of breadcrumbs for a softer bite.

Refrigerate mixture 20 mins before shaping to firm it up.

Serve with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or cornbread.
