Description

A hearty and comforting meatloaf recipe that has been loved for generations, using common ingredients for a satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, milk, egg, 1/4 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Spread the remaining 1/4 cup ketchup on top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding chopped bell peppers or celery to the mixture.
