Description

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until a dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into two discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 8-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool before decorating as desired.
