Description

A simple and delicious recipe for homemade No Knead Dutch Oven Bread, resulting in a crusty, rustic loaf perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups warm water
  • 3¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp fine grain salt
  • 1 packet yeast (approximately 2.25 tsp)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and salt. Stir until dissolved.
  2. Gradually add all-purpose flour and mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 2 to 3 hours, until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place your Dutch oven (with lid) inside to heat for about 20 minutes.
  5. Gently scrape the dough onto a floured piece of parchment paper and shape it into a rounded loaf.
  6. Flip the dough so the floured side is facing up and center it on the parchment paper.
  7. Score the top of the loaf with shallow cuts.
  8. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven from the oven and take off the lid.
  9. Transfer the dough into the Dutch oven using the parchment paper.
  10. Cover and bake for 35 minutes; add 5 minutes if dough started cold.
  11. Remove the lid and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Use fresh yeast for better results and allow the bread to rise fully for the best flavor.
