A simple and delicious recipe for homemade No Knead Dutch Oven Bread, resulting in a crusty, rustic loaf perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1½ cups warm water
- 3¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ tsp fine grain salt
- 1 packet yeast (approximately 2.25 tsp)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and salt. Stir until dissolved.
- Gradually add all-purpose flour and mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 2 to 3 hours, until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place your Dutch oven (with lid) inside to heat for about 20 minutes.
- Gently scrape the dough onto a floured piece of parchment paper and shape it into a rounded loaf.
- Flip the dough so the floured side is facing up and center it on the parchment paper.
- Score the top of the loaf with shallow cuts.
- Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven from the oven and take off the lid.
- Transfer the dough into the Dutch oven using the parchment paper.
- Cover and bake for 35 minutes; add 5 minutes if dough started cold.
- Remove the lid and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Transfer to a wire rack and let cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use fresh yeast for better results and allow the bread to rise fully for the best flavor.
