Description

A simple and delicious no knead cheddar bread recipe that yields a crusty, cheesy loaf, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Lukewarm Water (about 105°F/40°C)
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons Instant Yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Flaky Sea Salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, instant yeast, and kosher salt. Add lukewarm water and stir until combined, forming a shaggy dough. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and cover tightly with plastic wrap to rise for 12 to 18 hours.
  2. Dust a clean surface with flour and scrape out the risen dough. Fold it 2-3 times to form a ball, cover loosely, and let rest for 30 minutes. Preheat a Dutch oven to 450°F (232°C).
  3. Transfer the dough to the hot Dutch oven, sprinkle with flaky sea salt, cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the lid and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 200–210°F (93–99°C).

Notes

For best results, ensure your ingredients are fresh and accurately measured. Experiment with different types of cheese or add herbs for variations.
