Description

A simple, warm dessert featuring ripe nectarines topped with a buttery brown sugar-oat crumble.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups nectarines, sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine sliced nectarines with 1/2 cup of brown sugar in a large bowl, and mix well.
  3. Transfer the nectarine mixture into a greased baking dish.
  4. Mix the remaining brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the nectarines.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the nectarines are bubbling.
  8. Serve warm, preferably with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Use ripe but firm nectarines for best results. Allow the crisp to rest briefly before serving to thicken juices.
