Description

Bring the flavors of Taco Bell to your kitchen with this delicious Mexican Pizza recipe, featuring seasoned ground beef, refried beans, and melty cheese layered between crispy tortillas.


Ingredients

  • 8 flour tortillas (or corn tortillas)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 tbsp enchilada sauce
  • 8 ounces refried beans (1/2 can)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Mexican cheese blend)
  • 4 tbsp enchilada sauce (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Mexican cheese blend for topping)
  • 1 tomato (roma or beefsteak, seeds removed and diced)
  • 1 small red onion (diced)
  • 1/4 cup black olives
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 green onions (finely diced)


Instructions

  1. In a large frying pan or skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook for 5-8 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  2. Add taco seasoning, water, and 4 tablespoons of enchilada sauce; stir to combine and let simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Spread a layer of refried beans on one tortilla, add seasoned ground beef and cheese, and top with another tortilla.
  4. Spread 1 tablespoon of enchilada sauce on the top tortilla and add cheese.
  5. Repeat assembly for remaining tortillas.
  6. For air fryer method, preheat to 400°F and cook each pizza for 5 minutes, ensuring it’s crispy and cheese is melted.
  7. For oven method, preheat to 350°F, arrange on a sheet pan, and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. For pan frying, place each pizza one at a time in a pan with a lid, cooking for 4-5 minutes until crispy.
  9. Transfer to a plate and top with diced tomatoes, onion, olives, sour cream, and green onions. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use corn tortillas. Customize with different cheese blends or spices for added flavor.
