Description

A hearty Mediterranean steak bowl filled with vibrant flavors, nutritious ingredients, and topped with a creamy tzatziki sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin steak
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cups cooked grains (such as brown rice or quinoa)
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Cucumber, diced
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Kalamata olives, pitted and halved
  • Tzatziki sauce (made from Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, dill, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak: In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Coat the steak with the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare tzatziki: In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, minced garlic, dill, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. Cook the steak: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the marinated steak for about 4–5 minutes on each side, then let it rest before slicing.
  4. Assemble the bowl: Layer cooked grains in a bowl, add sliced steak, cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber, sliced onion, and olives. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce before serving.

Notes

For a smoky flavor, consider grilling the steak instead of pan-searing. Experiment with seasonal vegetables for a fresher taste.
