Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until soft.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned; season with paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, then half of the beef mixture, followed by half of the cheddar cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese.
- Pour beef broth and sour cream over the top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Pairs well with a green salad or steamed vegetables. Additional sour cream or hot sauce can be served on the side for added flavor.
