Description

A comforting dish that blends beef and potatoes, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned; season with paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, then half of the beef mixture, followed by half of the cheddar cheese.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and cheese.
  6. Pour beef broth and sour cream over the top.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with a green salad or steamed vegetables. Additional sour cream or hot sauce can be served on the side for added flavor.
