Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups (300 grams) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (227 grams) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 ½ cups (312 grams) all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture, mixing well until combined.
- Carefully fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Scoop and roll the dough into balls, then coat each ball in granulated sugar.
- Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them evenly.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are slightly soft.
- Allow cookies to rest for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature butter and avoid overmixing the dough. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can enhance flavors.
