Description

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups (300 grams) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (227 grams) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ½ cups (312 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Sprinkles (optional)
  • Frosting (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture, mixing well until combined.
  5. Carefully fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Scoop and roll the dough into balls, then coat each ball in granulated sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them evenly.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are slightly soft.
  9. Allow cookies to rest for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature butter and avoid overmixing the dough. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can enhance flavors.
