Description
A sweet and savory Instant Pot chicken dish made with tender chicken thighs, honey, and garlic, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. (750g) chicken thighs
- Salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cooking oil (divided)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon sugar (or brown sugar)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons water (or chicken broth)
- 3 dashes cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper and set aside.
- Mix all ingredients for the Honey Garlic Sauce in a bowl and set aside.
- Turn on the sauté mode on the Instant Pot and add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil.
- Pan-sear the seasoned chicken thighs skin side down until browned.
- Add the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of oil, then sauté minced garlic for a few seconds.
- Pour the Honey Garlic Sauce over the chicken, close the lid, and set to High pressure for 10 minutes.
- Perform a Quick Release when done, carefully remove the lid, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider using bone-in chicken thighs. You can adjust the spice level with cayenne pepper.
