Description
A delicious dish that combines the sweet taste of honey with the smoky flavor of barbecue sauce, perfect for busy nights or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Place the chicken breasts in a large oven-safe dish. Pour the honey BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring that each piece is thoroughly coated.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly, sticky, and starts to caramelize.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
For extra tenderness, marinate the chicken in the honey BBQ sauce mixture for a few hours or overnight before baking. Adjust the sweetness based on your preference.
