Description

A delicious dish that combines the sweet taste of honey with the smoky flavor of barbecue sauce, perfect for busy nights or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Place the chicken breasts in a large oven-safe dish. Pour the honey BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring that each piece is thoroughly coated.
  4. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  5. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly, sticky, and starts to caramelize.
  6. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra tenderness, marinate the chicken in the honey BBQ sauce mixture for a few hours or overnight before baking. Adjust the sweetness based on your preference.
