Description

A comforting and hearty casserole made with ground beef, sliced potatoes, and creamy cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with a little butter or cooking spray.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish, followed by the ground beef mixture on top.
  5. Pour cream of mushroom soup over the beef mixture and drizzle with milk.
  6. Add the remaining sliced potatoes on top and finish with shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 60 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  9. Once done, remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with a green salad or steamed vegetables. Optional to sprinkle paprika on top for added flavor.
