Description
A comforting and hearty casserole made with ground beef, sliced potatoes, and creamy cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup milk
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a baking dish with a little butter or cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish, followed by the ground beef mixture on top.
- Pour cream of mushroom soup over the beef mixture and drizzle with milk.
- Add the remaining sliced potatoes on top and finish with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 60 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Pairs well with a green salad or steamed vegetables. Optional to sprinkle paprika on top for added flavor.
