Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter.
  3. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Add the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined, ensuring you don’t overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips to add bursts of chocolate in every bite.
  6. Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared pan, smoothing out the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
