Description

A comforting dish combining biscuits, sausage, and gravy, perfect for brunch or breakfast-for-dinner nights.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz can of Pillsbury Grands! Buttermilk Biscuits, cut into pieces
  • 1 lb Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage, browned
  • 3 cups of frozen Ore-Ida Shredded Hash Browns
  • 1 packet (2.75 oz) of McCormick Gravy Mix, Sausage Flavor
  • 2 cups of milk for preparing the gravy
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, any variety
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • A pinch of black pepper (about 1/4 teaspoon)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or as needed

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish (9×13-inch).
  2. Brown the sausage in a pan on medium heat, breaking it into small pieces. Get rid of any grease left over.
  3. Spread the hash browns evenly in your baking dish as the first layer. Add the cooked sausage on top of that.
  4. Combine the gravy mix with the milk in a bowl and whisk until it’s completely smooth. Pour it over the sausage and potato layers.
  5. Spread the shredded cheddar evenly over the casserole layers.
  6. Quarter the biscuits and space them out across the top of the dish.
  7. Pop the dish into the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the biscuits are puffed and golden brown. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm and consider pairing with fruit or a salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
