Description
Delicious and juicy grilled BBQ chicken leg quarters, perfect for summer gatherings and cookouts.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken leg quarters
- 2 – 3 tablespoons BBQ seasoning (low sugar)
- ½ cup apple juice
- ½ cup barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Start by removing all visible fat from the chicken leg quarters.
- Next, rub the chicken quarters generously with the BBQ seasoning.
- Heat your gas grill to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place the seasoned chicken leg quarters in the center of the grill.
- To keep the chicken moist, spray or baste it with a mixture of apple juice and water.
- After 10-15 minutes, turn the chicken leg quarters over and repeat the basting process.
- Cook the chicken for a total of about 50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Once the chicken is nearly done, baste both sides with barbecue sauce and let it cook for another 5 minutes.
- Finally, let the grilled chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper cooking. Allowing the chicken to rest after cooking is crucial for juiciness.
