Description

A quick and easy creamy pasta dish featuring ground turkey, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Penne Pasta
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • ½ cup Half-and-half
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • ¼ cup Fresh Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped yellow onion and cook until soft, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.
  4. Season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir well, cooking for another minute.
  6. Gradually add the chicken broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Then pour in the tomato sauce and half-and-half, stirring until well mixed.
  7. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  8. Mix in the cooked penne pasta, mozzarella cheese, and cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
  9. Serve hot, topped with fresh parsley and optional red chili flakes.

Notes

For extra creaminess, add more half-and-half or cream. Experiment with different cheeses for a unique flavor.
