Ingredients
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- ⅓ cup water
- 1 ½ tbsp unsulphured molasses
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- ½ cup chai tea concentrate
- ½ – ¾ cup oat milk or milk of choice
- Handful of ice
- Coconut Whipped Cream or ¼ cup oat milk (to froth)
Instructions
- Make the Gingerbread Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the light brown sugar, water, molasses, ground ginger, and ground cinnamon. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow to cool slightly.
- Make the Chai Tea Latte: In a glass, combine the chai tea concentrate with the cooled gingerbread syrup. Stir well to blend. Add ice for a refreshing iced latte, or heat if preferred warm. Pour in the oat milk or milk of your choice, stirring to combine. Top with Coconut Whipped Cream or frothed oat milk.
Notes
Adjust sweetness level of the syrup to taste. The gingerbread syrup can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
