Description

Soft and chewy Gingerbread Crinkle Cookies packed with warm spices, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough into balls, then roll the balls in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  6. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, spaced apart.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until crinkled and set. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Dust the cookies with powdered sugar just before serving for a beautiful presentation. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
