Description

A delightful recipe that combines warm bread with aromatic garlic and Parmesan cheese, perfect for any meal or as a snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (about 100-110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 to cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon butter (split for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water in a large bowl and let it sit for about a minute until foamy.
  2. Stir in the salt, dried herbs, and chopped garlic until well blended.
  3. Add 2 cups of flour and grated Parmesan cheese; mix until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Gradually add more flour until the dough becomes soft and stretchy.
  5. Lightly oil a bowl, place the dough inside, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
  7. Punch down the dough, divide it into two balls, and shape them into rounds.
  8. Let the dough rise again for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Brush each round with half a tablespoon of butter.
  10. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  11. Let cool slightly before slicing and serve warm.
